Who we are
Globeriz (“we,” “us,” or “our”) owns and operates Calobi. This policy covers the Calobi iPhone app, this website, and support communications. Globeriz is responsible for deciding how your personal information is used.
Contact us at contact@globeriz.com for privacy questions and requests.
What we collect
The information we receive depends on the features you use and what you choose to share.
- Account information. Your account identifier, email, display name and sign-in details. If you use Apple or Google sign-in, we receive the information that provider makes available, which may include your name, email and provider identifier.
- Profile and goals. Information you enter about your date of birth, sex, height, weight, activity, food preferences, routines and goals. You may also choose to share dietary restrictions or health-related context.
- Your journal. Food descriptions, portions, nutrition estimates, photos, photo cutouts, meal times, water logs, weight entries and notes.
- Companion conversations. Messages you send to Obi, responses, memories saved from your conversations, reminders, summaries and insights derived from your journal.
- Device and service information. Device push tokens if you enable notifications, time zone, app or operating-system information, request timestamps, error information and network information such as IP addresses recorded by hosting providers.
- Support communications. Your email, messages and any screenshots or attachments you send us.
Some nutrition, body and conversational information can be sensitive or health-related. Please share only what you are comfortable providing.
Why we use it
We use information to create and secure your account; store and sync your journal; estimate nutrition; calculate and adapt your targets; answer questions; personalize Obi’s responses; deliver reminders you request or enable; provide summaries and insights; respond to support requests; send you service and marketing communications; understand how the service is used so we can improve it; and maintain the service’s reliability and security.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising across other companies’ apps and websites. We do not use your food photos, conversations or health-related information for targeted advertising.
We send marketing emails, such as news, tips and offers, to the email address on your account. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and we honor requests promptly. We choose who receives them from account information such as signup date and subscription status, not from your journal, photos or conversations. Account and service emails, such as sign-in codes, purchase and trial notices, security alerts and changes to our terms, are part of the service and continue while you have an account.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our agreement with you for core services, legitimate interests for necessary security and support, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required, including for sensitive information. You may withdraw consent by contacting us or stopping the relevant feature; some features may then be unavailable.
We may also create de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer reasonably identify you, and use it for research, analytics and improving Calobi. We do not try to re-identify it.
Washington, Nevada and some other residents have additional rights over consumer health data. Our consumer health data privacy policy explains them.
Photos and AI features
Calobi uses third-party AI services to recognize food in photos, estimate nutrition, understand messages, answer questions and create personalized guidance. When you use these features, relevant photos, messages, journal history, profile details or saved memories may be sent to AI providers through Vercel AI Gateway. The providers used by the service include OpenAI, Google, Anthropic and Perplexity, depending on the feature.
AI providers process this information under the terms and privacy arrangements applicable to the services we use. Food identification and AI answers can be inaccurate. You can correct your entries and remove saved memories in the app. Avoid including other people’s personal information in photos or messages.
Calobi is a food companion, not a medical service. See our health disclaimer.
Who helps run Calobi
We disclose information to service providers as needed to deliver the features you use.
| Provider | Purpose and information involved |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Account authentication and database storage for profiles, journal entries, conversations and related app records. |
| Cloudflare | Storage and delivery of uploaded food photos and food cutouts through R2. |
| Vercel | API hosting and routing AI requests through AI Gateway; relevant request content and operational information. |
| AI providers | OpenAI, Google, Anthropic and Perplexity process the inputs needed for the AI features described above. |
| Apple and Google | Sign-in services you choose. Apple also delivers push notifications and processes App Store purchases. When you ask Apple for a refund, we may send Apple purchase and usage information about your account, such as trial status and how much you used the service, so Apple can decide the request. |
| RevenueCat | Manages subscriptions and trials: purchase receipts, subscription status, an app user identifier, device and store information. |
| PostHog | Product analytics: an app user identifier, the screens and features you use, onboarding steps, device, app version and approximate location derived from IP address. We do not send it your photos, food logs or messages to Obi. |
| Zoho | Email hosting for our support address and for emails we send you: your email address, messages and attachments. |
We may also disclose information when required by law, to address fraud or security threats, to protect legal rights, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not publish your journal or use your photos in marketing without separate permission.
This website and permissions
This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics scripts, session replay or contact forms. Its fonts and images are served locally. Hosting providers may process technical access information to deliver and secure the website. Following a link to the App Store or another website brings you under that service’s own privacy policy.
The app asks for camera or photo-library access when needed for food logging and notification permission for alerts. You can manage permissions in iPhone Settings. Turning a permission off does not remove information already saved to your account. Onboarding answers and some app state may also be stored on your device.
Retention and deletion
We keep your account and journal information while your account exists so you can use your history and companion features. You can remove individual entries and saved memories, or delete your entire account in the app.
A successful account deletion removes your account and associated records from the active app database and requests removal of your uploaded photos and cutouts. Operational logs, provider records, backups and support correspondence may have separate retention periods. We retain such records only as needed for the purposes described here, security, resolving disputes or legal obligations; deleting an account does not erase records that Apple independently keeps for purchases.
If you want information about records that may remain, contact us. We do not promise immediate deletion from every provider’s backups or independent records.
Security and international processing
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect your information, including authenticated account access and restricted access to stored media. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Our service providers may process information in countries outside where you live, including the United States. Where required, international transfers must use legally recognized safeguards. Contact us for information about the arrangements applicable to your request.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or receive a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, and appeal a privacy-request decision. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
Email contact@globeriz.com with your request. We may verify your identity, and we respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. An authorized agent may contact us with evidence of their authority where permitted.
California and other US state residents may have additional rights, including rights regarding sale, sharing and sensitive information. Calobi does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. This site has no advertising trackers for a Global Privacy Control signal to disable.
Visit privacy choices for practical steps.
Children
Calobi is only for adults aged 18 and over, and our terms do not allow anyone younger to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. We may use the date of birth you enter, and age information made available by Apple or another app store, to confirm eligibility.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its information, except what we must keep to prevent the person from signing up again or to comply with law. If you believe a minor has used Calobi, contact contact@globeriz.com.
Changes and contact
We update this policy when our practices change and change the date above. For material changes, we provide additional notice as required by law. New data uses requiring consent will not rely solely on an updated policy.
